For the past month and a half Garrick and I have picked up a new hobby: gardening! I always HATED gardening. My mom used to keep a garden.....well tried too lol! She'd always try to get me into it, but nothing ever grew so I always thought it was a waste of time and effort. When Garrick wanted to start up a garden I really wasn't into the idea, but I saw how badly he wanted to try it so I agreed. I'm so glad I did. We've planted numerous rose bushes that I thought for SURE were going to die within a week. Almost 2 months later they are flourishing and have made our yard look so much nicer! So about 4 weeks after we planted rose bushes, we decided to try vegetables. I thought "okay, there is NO WAY these are going to grow". To my astonishment we're watching an eggplant grow on our eggplant bush and a few strawberries ripen on our strawberry bushes. I planted every seed imaginable and shockingly those are growing too! I'm so happy! We've been taking pictures of the garden's progress since early June (they can be viewed here). I can't wait until the other veggies are grown and we can harvest them and make yummy dishes with them. The only problem we're running into is a mystery bug/worm that has eaten up our lettuce sprouts :o( Other than that, everything has been growing and we're anxiously awaiting making our first dish out of our homegrown veggies :o)

Other than our little garden, everything else has been pretty quiet around here. I'm now 30 weeks along and starting to feel uncomfortable. The usual aches and pains have been plaguing me but the worst is the kicking (and our super hot weather). It hurts so much when this baby starts stomping on my bladder! You know the movie "Alien"? The part when the alien bursts through that dude's chest? That's how I feel! I swear she is trying to explode out of my abdomen. Unlike Kailyn, the doctor thinks that I will be carrying this baby full term and that she'll probably be almost 8 pounds. UGH! Kailyn was 5 weeks early so she weighed 5lbs 12ozs and I had a hard time getting her out lol! I actually MIGHT be getting a c-section this time around to avoid further damage to my back. After Kailyn was born I had really bad back pain for about 8 months. The pain is returning since I'm getting heavier and we're afraid that trying to push an 8lb baby will further aggravate my back. We'll see what happens. Well other than that I think that's about it! Have a great week everybody!

Hi Kimiko,
I just found you on etsy and came to look at your blog.
Your daughter is so adorable! Is she excited about becoming a big sister? I have a 2-year-old too, born in December of '06.
Good luck with your pregnancy, and I look forward to reading more about you!
